The original pub dates back to the 17th century. Since then the building has increased in size quite dramatically whilst still retaining that "olde worlde" feeling.

There are two bars served by one central servery where locals, tourists and business people mix together. During the winter, open log fires burn in both bars.

There are always at least three real ales on offer along with a selection of around 50 wines from around the world.

The pub is open all day every day. There are two separate non smoking dining rooms seating no more than 35 people in each area.
