"May we suggest you use the free car parking!" Rob and Jane
The Waterman’s Mystery
(UPDATE: 1948 Healey Westland)

The Waterman's Arms Country Inn, near Totnes in Devon is the
regular watering hole of Andrew Agar.
When one day the subject turned to old cars (what else!),
the landlord joined the discussion. He came up with an old photograph of The
Waterman’s Arms,
taken probably in the late 1950s, early sixties,
and asked if the lads could identify the car in the picture.
The Austin A40 in the back presented no problem, but the sports car
next to the petrol pump did! Nobody could identify it and after some head
scratching,
Andrew suggested asking our help.
Do you know what this is?
And by the way, you are also most welcome to send us your Postwar Mystery
Car.

UPDATE: We have received mails from;
Laurie Weeks, Til Rohnke, Barrie Down, Rick Ford, Kit Foster and Bart
Oosterling
all identifying our mystery car as a
Healey Westland.
But the first with a correct answer was Guenter Lainer, so he deserves the
free pint! |
